Our Pastor

My name is James Zahn. I grew up in the southwest and I love the culture and the people who live here. I was raised in a pastor’s home and am so thankful that I trusted Jesus Christ at a young age. I have found that God is good, his Words are to be trusted, and in following his Word there is great blessing. Psalm 19:7-10 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. My goal at Alameda Bible Church is to instruct only from God’s Holy Word. I would like my ministry to be known for a wholehearted pursuit of the Bible. If this is also your desire, come join us at Alameda Bible Church.

Cheerfully looking to the future,

Pastor James Zahn

  1. I have a few questions before I attend. I have called many times, but have not been able to get ahold of anyone.
When does your Sunday evening service end? How many people attend the Sunday evening service? Do people raise their hands during worship and is the worship contemporary or traditional? Do you have singles or is your church mostly older people? I used to go there 20 years ago and wonder if it has changed. I am interested in your evening service and wonder if it is still mostly senior citizens or if it has changed? George

    1. Hi George. I’m sorry that you’ve had a hard time connecting with us. Our Pastor is usually available Tuesday through Saturday in the the church office. Also, if you go to the bottom of the home page, there is a “Contact Us” section that has a link to email Pastor James.

About your questions, the Sunday evening service usually lasts about an hour but sometimes Pastor James may go a few minutes over. As to how many people attend Sunday evening, we average about 20 to 25. Regarding people raising their hands during the service, mostly not. But there have been a few here and there, but it isn’t the norm. Our worship is the more traditional. We use a hymnbook and have more traditional music, but some of the choir music is contemporary. James is a good solid Bible preacher/teacher. We do have some singles in the church. Some are College and Career, some are older. We have a pretty good mix of young and old. I don’t think Alameda has changed a lot over the years other than some people come and some go and some stay for the long haul. We are kind of like a big extended family. We would love to have you come and check us out. If you have other questions, don’t hesitate to ask. If you’d like to meet with the pastor I’m sure he would love to meet with you. Thanks again for contacting us. I hope to see you one of these days soon. Gary Gilpin
